About This Blog

I intend to serve three purposes with this blog:

  • To provide as much of my own knowledge as I can in order to help others on the journey to acquire their own knowledge.
  • To provide a place where a wide variety of topics can be discussed openly and freely.
  • To entertain others with my unique brand of twisted humour.

As you will notice by what I post to this blog and the topics I choose to discuss, I don’t intend to hold my blog to one specific theme as such. Some of the things I’ll post about are:

  • Web Design/SEO (have to satisfy the geeks out there!)
  • Sports (after all, I’m a guy!)
  • Sustainability and environmental issues
  • Music
  • Whatever I FEEL like posting about, GAWD!

Why Did I Choose To Create a Blog?

The first reason I chose to create a blog is simply to learn how to use WordPress itself. One of my clients, Green Street Productions, is a marketing agency with a client who will require multiple WordPress blogs for various purposes. Thus, I created my own blog as something of a learning tool; if anything goes wrong, it only goes wrong here and doesn’t affect the client.

Finally, I created this blog to act as something of a personal playground. I do intend to conduct various experiments using this blog; I will make some of these experiments public and I won’t reveal others, depending on what I’m trying to accomplish or determine for myself. I will, however, share the results at the conclusion of these experiments.

I hope that everyone who uses this blog finds it useful, entertaining, thought-provoking or in some way beneficial. If you don’t, or you have constructive criticisms or comments to make, please feel free to post them in my blog! If there’s anything I can do to make this blog better, I’ll do anything I can to make it happen.

Why the name “Walk on My Path”?

Many of the things that I have done in my personal and professional lives have required me to enter uncharted territories, to go down a path that no one else had travelled on before, to do things that no one else had attempted. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge and experience and come up with some rather unique solutions for problems, and it is my intent to share many of those solutions and ideas here and give all of you at least some opportunity to walk down a portion of the path in life that I have travelled.

I also wanted to do a website layout around the picture in the header itself; I originally intended to use it for a client of a client, but the final client supplied a photograph to be used in the header instead. This picture is far too attractive for me not to have used it, so I elected to use it for this layout.
